Well I have a group of 1st year students that I teach on Tuesdays. I am their demonstrator and this means that I teach them how to do their experiments and mark their reports. I really like teaching them, they are really nice and we have a good laugh! Obviously they are really keen about science since they are at uni studying it and this really helps with the teaching.
I also really like going into schools and running science workshops, because the students are always really enthusiastic (probably because it is a bit more fun than their usual lessons!).
That said I don’t think I’d want to be a teacher. I don’t like the idea of stopping learning, and not getting to do anymore research, and I don’t think the kids would listen to me as I’m too nice and I don’t like to shout!
