As a way of understanding the world it is crucial. It is a tool to allow us to ask questions and assess evidence, and create new knowledge. It allows us to develop away from ignorance and superstition -explanation and fact over blind belief. So very important!

Our life is surrounded by science, and by things related to science itself:
Turn on TV, listen to music, wash your hair with a shampoo, receive a text on your mobile, take a pill against your headache… You can do all these things due of the incredible development of science during this last century! It means a lot to us and most of the time we probably take it for granted!

My research means a lot to me too. I lost somebody I was close to to cancer and she is my inspiration, I will dedicate my work to my family and I think about them every day. Cancer research can be a really personal and emotional subject and it is something and it really close to my heart.
