• Question: Why did Dolly the sheep have more health problems than a normal sheep of the same age?

      She had problems with premature aging. Basically her DNA was degrading when she was still an infant, even though normally DNA does degrade until you are older. It continued to degrade as she aged and so she ended up dying very young because of cell death. This is a big problem with cloning. Because they took the DNA from an adult sheep, so the DNA had already started to degrade when Dolly was born. The only way to get around this problem is to take DNA of babies to clone.
