  Well, this may sounds cruel – but I would not give it to them. The reason is that I think I could help more people and do more good in the world by spending the £500 on the project I wrote about in my profile – than by giving it to one person. (Instead I would give them some of my own money).

  The rules are that the £500 must be spent on doing science communication with young people, so if a poor person asked me for it I would say no, and I would give them some of my own money instead!
