• Question: in your work do you ever know that you found something that could help doctors and family find the early stages of cancer

      well that is what my whole research is about. I have come up with a design for a blood test to help doctors diagnose patients with early stages of cancer, and now I’m working very hard to make it work! I’m using fluorescent dyes that will glow when the come into contact with cancer chemicals in the blood samples. Its a really simple idea, I really hope it works.

      Yes I was in hospital yesterday!! I’ve had an operation on my hand cos I broke it sledging in the snow and tore some ligaments and stuff. The surgery went really well and I won’t have a massive scar, it’s only about 3 inches long and it’s in the shape of a Y round my thumb. I’ve been feeling a bit queasy but apart from that I’m ok, thanks for asking!! 🙂
      I have to wear a cast now for 4 weeks, its massive, it looks like I’ve got a club at the end of my hand!!
