Evolution has no goal. The environment shapes organisms and their genetic coding, so
– we can’t evolve too much; and
– we can’t predict what will happen in the future!
Havnig said that, after the development of agriculture, humans have on average got smaller and weaker, with thinner bones and smaller muscles. So maybe we will continue to get smaller and weaker as we becmoe increasnigly less active as a society….However there is less natural selection now amongst humans at least in the west, because the vast majority of people who are born survive into adulthood. Without different levels of survival, natural selection can’t act, so maybe evolutionary processes will slow down in humans whilst this continues to be the case.
