The BBC filmed part of a series called ‘Growing Babies’ in our lab.. I appeared for about 15 seconds.

I also was a consultant on Channel Four program about how good and bad sleep patterns affects children’s ability to concentrate.

I was in an independent documentary called Short Man of the Forest http://www.banyak.co.uk/shop-forest.php, about looking for a mystery primate in the forests of Indonesia. That was great fun! I also made a cameo appeara in a National Geographic show called Ape Man, on the same subject: http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/series/is-it-real/2512/Overview

Hi Sunny. I’ve been on the radio and TV news a few times talking about robots. For example I was on the ITV news being interviewed about the Symbrion project in 2008. I didn’t know they were going to do this but ITN put the interview on YouTube and it’s been watched loads of times. You can watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkvpEfAPXn4

My work was featured in a half-hour documentary for Spanish TV company REDES, presented by Eduard Punset called ‘Aprender de los Robots’. It’s really funny to watch myself with my voice overdubbed by a deep-voiced Spanish commentary. It’s online here:

I had a small part in a documentary that was made for extended DVD edition of the Will Smith movie i,Robot. The documentary was called Sentient Behaviour, Intelligent Machines and I was interviewed explaining the famous robot tortoises made by W Grey Walter in about 1950. Here’s the cast list on the internet movie database showing me as me http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0458104/fullcredits#cast The best part for me was appearing alongside some scientists I very much admire like Rodney Brooks, Daniel Dennett and Steve Grand.

I have never been on TV but I did once to a live show with Dr Bunhead (from Tv’s Brainiac). The show was called “Sock the Scientist” and you can buy it on DVD!

I have also been on the radio, I was interviewed for a science program on BBC radio scotland. My voice sounded really funny because I have really soft voice! It was fun doing the radio, I would definately do it again.
