I liked dinosaurs and rockets when i was toddler.. and then was quite good at maths at school so i always liked everything to do with physics. but wasn’t until i was fifteen or sixteen that i started to become interested in brains, consciousness and psychology.

well i first saw science at secondary school and i liked it straight away. I liked doing the experiments and i thought the other classes like english and maths were boring cos you had to sit at a desk in silence all the time, but science was more chiiled out and you could do stuff! so when i had to chose my subject, i chose the stuff i liked like chemistry, biology, art and music. And then i decided I wanted to go to uni and I chose to do chemistry because it was a favourite subject, and its always easier to work hard at a subject you enjoy! I’m really happy now, I definately made the right choices when I was younger. I think its really important to go with your heart with those types of decisions.

Well as a boy I was more interested in engineering – electronics to be exact. I’ve really only become so interested in science in more recent years – for about 20 years I guess.
