No my work does not involve any animal testing what so ever. You see, because the doctor will be taking a sample of the patients blood and then doing the test in a test tube, then the patient won’t be exposed to any of the dyes so there are no safety risks or side effects. Once I’m ready to start trials, I will ask people that have already been dignosed at the Edinburgh cancer research centre if they will donate a small sample of their blood to my research so I can test if the blood test works. I will take samples of my own blood to use as a negative control because I do not have cancer and it is important to check that people that do not have cancer give a negative result.

That makes sense not to test on animals because their bodies may react differant.
