I do like science fiction but i prefer reading it to watching it because the pictures are usually better in your imagination and it often takes the length of a book to develop the ideas that make it interesting.
My favourite authors are Neal Stephenson, Ursula Le Guin, Greg Egan and Iain M Banks.
The last ‘science fiction’ film i saw was skyline – it was rubbish!
Yes I do lone – I *love* SF movies. In fact I think it was probably SF that inspired me to become an engineer and scientist (watching Dr Who on a back and white TV when I was about 10, then a couple of years later watching Thunderbirds in colour at my friend’s house).
My favourite SF movie of all time is Blade Runner (based on the classic SF novel “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep” by Philip K Dick). And I love the Star Wars movies – I got the boxed set for Christmas and having been watching them again.
Other SF movies I really like (especially because they have robots in) are i,Robot, Bicentennial Man and especially AI – which I find hard to watch because it’s so emotional.
Yaeh i love a bit of sci fi, my favourite film is district 9 because i thought it was so realistic!! i also love reading really old sci fi novels like 2001:a space oddessy. because i think it is so interesting how they thought the world would be like in our lifetimes.
